Free is $0 forever for 1 location and up to 10 employees, with the core features. Team is $29 per month, which includes your first location and 30 employees; each additional location is $10 and each employee past 30 is $1, with the full scheduling and time-clock toolkit. Pro is $2 per employee + $10 per location, per month, with every feature: POS integrations, tip pool, payroll exports, onboarding and AI. On Pro, every employee and every location is billed — for example, 1 location with 25 employees is $60/month.
Team ($29 a month including the first location and 30 employees) covers running the week: a location check that blocks out-of-range clock-ins, tablet kiosk with PIN, breaks, conflict checks and overtime warnings before you publish, team messages, the staff Earnings page, hours reports and a plain CSV export. Pro adds the money features: Toast, Square and Clover sales with labor % of sales, the tip pool, payroll exports to Gusto, QuickBooks Online, ADP RUN and Paychex Flex with payroll review, paperless onboarding, all 14 Insights reports, and the AI tools. If you pool tips or run payroll from PeopleBridge, you want Pro.
Nothing changes on your account; the next month’s bill goes up by $1 for that person, so 31 employees at one location is $30. The same goes for each extra location: $10 each. For example, 2 locations with 40 employees is $29 + $10 + $10 = $49. There are no caps on Team; you move to Pro when you want the money features, not because you grew.
There’s no time-limited trial. The Free plan doesn’t expire: your first location and first 10 employees are free for as long as you stay on Free. No credit card or bank account is needed to start.
Everyone with a profile on your account: owners, managers, staff, board members, volunteers, interns and 1099 contractors — including people who are inactive, on leave or seasonal. Pending invites and onboarding applicants who haven’t been approved don’t count. To lower your count, archive people who have left; their timesheets and records are kept.
You’ll see the upgrade screen with both options priced for your team, for example “Team $29/month” or “Pro $32/month — $2 × 11 employees + $10 × 1 location.” On Team, 11 employees are still inside the 30 that $29 includes. Once you connect a bank account, the employee or location is added and the plan unlocks right away. If you cancel, nothing changes and you stay on Free.
No. The free allowances belong to the Free plan. On Pro, every employee and every location is billed, so the smallest Pro account (1 employee, 1 location) is $12/month.
Billing starts the day you switch to Team or Pro: your first monthly charge is for the coming month, based on that day’s employee and location counts. Plans are billed monthly by card or automatic bank debit (ACH). Counts are re-read at each renewal; changes in headcount take effect from the next month, with no partial-month charges.
Yes. Move between Team and Pro any time from Settings → Billing: the switch takes effect right away and the difference is prorated on your next invoice. You can cancel back to Free once you’re within its limits (1 location, 10 employees); that takes effect at the end of your paid month, and the paid features lock again. Nothing is deleted.
Every plan includes the AI setup assistant, AI-assisted import and the Monday AI digest email. Pro adds Ask PeopleBridge, schedule from a sentence, the payroll review summary and auto-translate. There’s no per-prompt or metered AI billing on any plan.
